Being healthy is a part of our Deen. You probably have a confused look on your face now. Wondering how? Well when you're in good shape you're able to have more energy to perform our daily obligatory acts. Good health allows us to prostate for our lord or even make Wudhu without strain or help. Besides that, let's look to our Prophet Muhammad and his eating habits to see what we can incorporate into our lives in order to live a healthier lifestyle.

 

Narrated Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him): I heard Allah's Apostle saying "there is healing in black cumin for all diseases except death" (Shaih Bukhari 7:71:592)

He encouraged us to eat less rather than to over eat which can contribute to illness and disease.Prophet Muhammad also encouraged eating in moderation and avoiding gluttony with our food. In addition to that, he also ate to give himself enough energy to keep him going through the day

 

Prophet Muhammad said:" 'Nothing is worse than a person who fills his stomach. it should be enough for the son of Adam to have a few bites to satisfy his hunger. If he wishes more,It should be: One-third for his food, one third for his liquids and one third for his breath" (Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah)

 

Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) says 'the strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, while there is good in both (Sahih Muslim)

 

It's important to make sure that we are in shape, not only for ourselves but for our creator. We should want to be strong and healthy to conduct our daily acts of worship. Try to implement the habits of our Beloved Prophet to live a healthier lifestyle!
